Electrical Electronics

 Students completing the Electrical/Electronics program at Southern State Community College will  

  • Evaluate electrical and electronic circuits and equipment by properly using electrical meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Calculate voltage, current or resistance and impedance values for DC and AC circuits
  • Explain the operation of basic electronic components in DC and AC circuits.
  • Read electrical or electronic schematics.
  • Produce electronic schematics for given circuits.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of digital electronics.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of analog electronics including the operation of bipolar and FET transistors.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build and test a DC power supply.
