Students completing the Corrections program at Southern State Community College will
- Explain
the institutional and non-institutional aspects of contemporary
corrections.
- Contrast
the operations of jails and prisons in terms of safety,
security, classification, and programming.
- Communicate
effectively in written reports, during interviews, and
interpersonal exchanges.
- Demonstrate
knowledge of the foundations, principles, and limitations of
criminal law.
- Identify
ethical and unethical behavior in a criminal justice setting.
- Demonstrate
knowledge of correctional counseling, treatment, and
intervention practices.
