Patriots Participate in Charger Classic
The Southern
State Community College men’s basketball team traveled to Edison
Community College on Nov. 5th and 6th to compete in the second
annual Charger Classic. In the first game, the Patriots were
victorious over Rio Grande JV 87-73. Top scorers for the Patriots
include: Ted Clemons, 26pts; Mike King, 17pts; Sean Inman, 16pts;
Anthony Beverly, 8pts; and Erik Marting, 7pts. Charlie Breckonridge
and Dexter Jones each contributed 4pts with Kyle Stoops adding 3pts
and Trevor Gould 2pts.
During the
Championship game, the Patriots battled Cedarville JV and lost
83-82. With six minutes remaining in the game and the Patriots down
by 15, they battled their way back for a last second shot but came
up short. The Patriots finished with second place and Ted Clemons
was voted to the All-Tournament Team. Stats for this game are as
