Grand prize awarded in SSCC’s Wimba Pronto contest

Amanda Anderson of Hillsboro was the winner of the grand prize drawing in Southern State Community College’s Wimba Pronto contest. Anderson was awarded a free winter quarter class at Southern State.

In November, the college’s Learning Resources Centers initiated a contest to encourage students to sign up for an account with Wimba Pronto, a free instant messaging system designed specifically for students and educators.

Pronto users can participate in audio/video conferencing, share large documents, receive tutoring help, be connected with every student in class, get online office hours with instructors and online research help from a librarian, start study group sessions and much more.
