BADM 1199 | Seminar

This course will be a discussion of particular problems related to the student’s chosen program and areas of interest.
BADM 2204 | Principles of Marketing
Prerequisite: ACCT 1104

An introduction to marketing fundamentals, developing target markets, the marketing mix, and understanding consumer behavior. Included is a study of the structure
and the functioning of the marketing system as it relates to retailing and wholesaling. Emphasis is also placed on pricing, planning, implementing and controlling marketing plans, programs and systems.
BADM 2206 | History & Principles of Management
3 credits
Introduction to concepts and history of management. Concentration on ethical and social responsibility, the planning process, decision making, organizational structure, power, authority and delegation, and decentralization. As part of the study of management this course covers such topics as organizational change and staffing leadership, motivation, communication, and managerial controls.
BADM 2208 | Supervision & Leadership
4 credits
Student will develop leadership skills, practices, and a personal philosophy of leadership. The course will cover leadership theories and effective methods.
BADM 2213 | Personal Finance
3 credits
This course will focus on family and personal budgeting, building a good credity history and the use of credit. Students will be exposed to the use of insurance, checking and savings accounts, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, credit cards, mortgages, taxes and federal, state and local tax structure. Students will learn about buying (leasing) a new or used motor vehicle, renting or buying a home and how to develop a career search strategy. This course will prepare the student for his or her role as a citizen, a consumer and a productive member of society.
BADM 2215 | Gender & Diversity
3 credits
Student will understand basic Gender Diversity theories that are analyzed to provide the student with a firm foundation for managing in a workforce composed of individuals. Women are taking more or a role in American productivity; men are "switching places" with their partners. The course will examine the effects of gender and diversity in the workplace and how to manage and balance these issues.
BADM 2216 | Business Ethics

This course is an introduction to various ethical topics and situations the office or computer professional may encounter in today's workplace.
BADM 2220 | Human Resources Management
4 credits
An introduction to structure and functions of personnel activity, recruitment and placement, performance appraisal, salary administration, employee benefits, personnel planning, management development, and labor relations.
BADM 2222 | Business Finance
Prerequisites: ACCT 1105 and ECON 2205
3 credits
Course is an introduction to basic concepts, principles, and analytical techniques of financial management. Topics include the whole scope of the financial system and its functions: (1) the markets, (2) the institutions, and (3) the principles and concepts of financial management which guide the participants in making sound decisions.
BADM 2225 | Social Media/Marketing
Prerequisites: ENGL 1101 and CSCI 1140 or CSCI 1109

This course is an introductory class into the use and development of social media and marketing. Students will learn the importance of using the social Web for media and marketing purposes and learn how to develop news stories and marketing material for the Internet and mobile devices.
BADM 2251 | Business Law I - The Legal Environment

This course is an introduction to the legal and social environment of business. This course covers government regulations, ethics and social forces, torts, computers and intellectual property law, and the constitutional foundation of our legal system. This course also covers topics in contracts, agreements, contractual capacity, consideration, form of contract, third persons, genuineness of assent, legality, discharge and breach of contract, bailment, and special bailment.
BADM 2252 | Business Law II - The Formation & Regulation of Business
3 credits
This course is an introduction to numerous legal topics including securities, commercial paper, bankruptcy, agency relationships, partnerships, estates, trusts, international business and trade, consumer protection, environmental law, fraud, conspiracy, larceny and racketeering, real property, corporations, and forms of business organizations, employment law and anti-trust and financial laws.
BADM 2290 | Problems in Business Applications
Prerequisites: ACCT 1104, ACCT 1105, ACCT 1106, 35% of the required technical credits in the Business Management program or permission of instructor

A comprehensive survey course designed to test the student’s mastery of the BADM courses required for the Associate Degree in Business Management. The overall subject matter deals with business planning. The course is a series of projects: strategic planning, production and operations management, staffing, motivation, public relations, business ethics, and marketing. Successful completion of the course requires a portfolio of reports covering the assigned projects.
