Nature of the Profession: The widespread use of multimedia has made design and programming of materials for software and placement on the Web a
necessary proficiency for individuals working with the computer. Expertise in computer graphics and multimedia has become critical for the computer professional. The ability to use presentation software, desktop publishing systems and Web authoring software will allow students to design professional looking software, presentations and Web materials. These individuals can create and assemble multimedia products for corporate interactive training, advertising, and marketing, and apply multimedia technology to assemble graphics, text, sound, and video into meaningful productions.
