Nature of the Profession: Registered nurses (RNs) care for the sick and help people stay healthy. They observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress. Other duties may include administering medication, assisting in convalescence and rehabilitation, instructing patients and their families in proper care, and helping individuals and groups take steps to improve or maintain their health.

Program Design: The program is accredited by the National League for Nursing and has full approval of the Ohio Board of Nursing. The program is designed to be completed in seven quarters when taken on a full-time basis. Admission to the Nursing courses requires written acceptance by the Department of Nursing according to the admission requirements listed on the special nursing application. Students may elect to complete some or all of the general education course requirements prior to being admitted into the nursing courses. Continuation in the Nursing Program requires a grade of C or above in all courses listed in the program outline. The cumulative grade point average must be at least a C. There is a time limit on completion of science and nursing course requirements.
