Performing Arts Trustee Scholarship
These scholarships are granted by the Board of Trustees of Southern
State to encourage worthy students to pursue their
academic careers. They require that the student enroll for and
complete a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours each quarter.
Eligibility is restricted to area high school
graduates from the class preceding Fall Quarter with a cumulative GPA
of at least 3.25. Also
required is a letter of recommendation from the high school principal
and a written personal statement from the applicant describing his/her
goals and extracurricular activities.
Applicants may be interviewed and recommended
by a Speech and Theater faculty advisor.
Partial or full scholarships are available. Recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 to continue to
receive this scholarship throughout the school year. Renewal for a
second year is possible; also contingent upon maintenance of a 3.25
GPA.
