Trustee Valedictorian/Salutatorian
Scholarship
General Requirements: Trustees
Scholarships are granted by the Board of Trustees of Southern State Community
College to encourage worthy students to pursue their academic careers at the
college. Except as noted, Trustees Scholarships require that the student
enroll for and complete a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours each quarter.
Additional requirements are listed below. Students are strongly advised to
seek the help of a faculty advisor before selecting a program scholarship rather
than other scholarships for which they may be eligible.
Eligibility is restricted to service area high
school valedictorian and salutatorians from the current graduating class preceding
Fall Quarter. In addition, a letter of recommendation from the high school
principal and a written personal statement by the applicant describing their
goals and summarizing their extracurricular activities must accompany the application.
A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.25 must be maintained to continue to
receive a scholarship. Renewal for a
second year is contingent on maintenance of a GPA of 3.25.
