Getting Started
We’ve streamlined the admission process into four simple steps:
1. We request that students take a few moments to complete the basic
application for admission. We follow a rolling-admission system, which means there are no deadlines for application. However, it is recommended that high school seniors apply as early as possible during their senior year.
2. Once completed, it is recommended that a high school transcript or copy of the GED certificate accompany the application. Students can either mail the application to the Admissions Office at 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro, OH 45133 or feel free to drop it off at any of the four convenient locations. THERE IS NO APPLICATION FEE.
3. Students who wish to obtain a degree at Southern State or who plan on taking any math or English courses are required to take a
College Placement Assessment. The assessment is simply used as an indicator for appropriate course placement and does not determine admission into the College.
Admission to the College does not assure admission to a specific course of study. Students who intend to apply for admission to the nursing programs must meet specific requirements. Enrollment is limited in both the Registered Nursing Program as well as the Practical Nursing Program. For more information about these requirements, contact the College Admission Office.
