Southern State's Tutoring Center is committed to providing free, quality tutoring assistance and resources necessary to ensure the academic success of all students. The Tutoring Center offers one-on-one mentoring, open labs, and online services at all campuses.
If you think tutoring is about failure, think again! SSCC tutoring services offer students an opportunity for academic success. Use the Tutoring Center resources to:
- improve grades and overall GPA,
- stay on top of the coursework,
- prepare for exams and standardized tests,
- assist with time management,
- identify learning styles and strategies,
- tackle difficult concepts,
- provide feedback on written assignments
- provide assistance with formatting papers,
- build and reinforce basic knowledge, and
- identify SSCC student support services.

The mission of the tutoring center is to develop independent, responsible, lifelong-learners by promoting active learning, increasing student motivation, and instilling confidence. The center strives to create an open, inviting atmosphere conducive to learning. Tutors will seek to identify learning styles and assist the student in developing sets of learning strategies which address their needs.
