ACADEMIC COUNCIL

OCTOBER 25,2001

PRESENT: Karen Newby, Sherry Stout, Jeff Montgomery, Ric Shrubb, Marsha Snyder, Dr. Cronan(presiding).

The following topics were discussed:

Winter, summer schedules. Winter will be sent to printing next week. Full-time faculty have had opportunity to choose classes. Summer also will go to faculty next week.

Inclement Weather Telephone Tree. Deans/Directors asked to review their trees.

Sherry Stout asked for anyone with memories of the college to let her know for the history Dr. Miller is doing.

College Holidays. The suggestion was made to send around a list of administrative holidays in July for the coming year.

Strategic Planning Process. Dr. Cronan will distribute this.

Crisis Plan. Dr. Cronan asked Sherry Stout to chair a committee also including Karen Newby and Ric Shrubb to review and revise the current crisis plan document.

Budget. Outlook is for a further reduction of 6% this year and another 6% next year. Hopes for any new positions slim, even replacement positions will be difficult.
