Old Business

1)         ECED articulation with Wilmington College presented by Becky Storer.  This was a revised draft.  Becky reported she was satisfied with the articulation and it will be great for students majoring in ECED.  Students graduating from Wilmington College in this program would have pre-K through third grade license.  Students may transfer up to 100 credit hours.  Advisors will need to take into consideration that students will probably need credits in HPER and could take those courses at Southern State.  Jeff M. moved to approve.  Ken H. seconded.  Motion carried.

2)         CORR 210 Internship – delete from catalog.  Dr. Cronan stated the course is not used anymore.  CORR 103 may be used in its place.  Bill Horne moved it be accepted, Jeff L. seconded.  Motion carried.

New Business

1)         New course – CORR 103 – Introduction to Corrections II.  Linda Chamblin reported this course will be used to transfer credit in to the college.  It will be used for corrections experience and training.  Students may be awarded between 1-6 credit hours.  The manual for two-year colleges can be referred to for awarding credit.  This course will give the college flexibility in awarding credit for experience in corrections.  Jeff M. moved to accept the course.  Ken H. seconded.  Motion carried.

2)            Articulation agreement with Wilmington College (Business concentration).  This articulation was presented by Ric Shrubb and Bill Horne.  Students may take between 90 and 100 credit hours.  It was noted that Wilmington College is revamping several social science and humanities courses reflecting an international flavor.  Southern State may  need to start exploring  this in its courses. Bill H. moved to accept.  Jeff M. seconded.  Motion carried.

3)         Deleted from agenda.
