Discussion

Review of Syllabi:

·        ADA Compliance

·        FERPA Compliance

·        Course Methodology

Faculty members have been told they are required to have ADA (disabilities) and FERPA (privacy) statements on all syllabi. In addition, word has it that faculty are supposed to pass out to all students in each class the original course syllabus approved by the Curriculum Committee. Bob Headley will check with the Attorney General about which syllabi students are entitled to receive and about coming up with official wording to comply with ADA and FERPA that could be stamped on all syllabi.

Tom Stroup advised the committee to have a requirement that syllabi should have a mandated course outline and “course outline at the discretion of the instructor not be used on official syllabi. Bob said he would send word to area coordinators about this and mention it at Faculty Senate.
