Note! Requirements listed below are those that must be met in addition to minimum hardware, software, and computer skills requirements listed on the college’s Welcome to Blackboard page.

Waitlist Policy: Waitlists are maintained for online courses; however, instructors may choose not to move waitlisted students onto a class roster once the quarter begins. Enrollment in online courses is limited to insure a quality learning experience.

WHEN CAN I LOG INTO MY COURSE AND DO I NEED ANY SPECIAL SOFTWARE?? Students must go to the instructor’s website at http://www.sscc.edu/home/jbasham/website/Index.htm and read the instructions provided on the links on the left noted as Blackboard Login, Class Schedule, Computer Skills/Software, Critical Instructions, and Navigate Blackboard. Students must be logged into the course by the first Wednesday of the quarter. Students unable to login must contact the instructor via e-mail or Pronto as noted above. Students must have their textbook on the first day of class. Textbooks can be shipped to your nearest campus using the link to Student Book Request Form. Critical requirements for this course include the ability to use Microsoft Office applications, read and comprehend instructions as provided in Adobe reader format, attach files, and effectively manage time.

  5. log onto the course website to complete an online orientation no later than Tuesday, September 20, midnight. Students who fail to do this will be dropped from the course immediately.
If you cannot meet all of these requirements, please sign up for a different section of English 101.

Critical requirements for online learning: Installing the Keyboarding Pro software AFTER logging into your Blackboard course and following the VERY SPECIFIC software setup instructions provided or watching the software setup video provided, reading and comprehending instructions, time management. Students must have a CD drive installed and the software cannot be installed on a MAC. The Keyboarding Pro software is installed on every SSCC campus and students can use the software on campus if necessary.
