The Private Security Basic Training Academy is a 16 week program that can be taken alone or as part of the Criminal Justice – Assets Protection & Loss Prevention program that provides the student with the fundamentals of entry-level private security training.
The Private Security Basic Training Academy is held on Fayette Campus, Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00pm to 10:00pm and Saturdays from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
This Academy is approved by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to sit for the Private Security Officer Certification exam.

Step 1 – Complete an Enrollment Packet

- be at least 18 years of age; and
- be free of any convictions (please note that this institution does not require a background check; however, employers are required by law to conduct a background check to insure that employees are free of any convictions of domestic violence, felonies of violence, or any felony involving the illegal use, possession, sale, administration, distribution or trafficking in a drug or abuse).
