Beverley
Holsted currently works with West Union Students. Beverley
worked with the Ohio State University Extension Office in
Brown County as a Program Assistant for 11 years prior to
joining staff at the Southern Ohio Center of Excellence.
While being employed as a College Access Advisor, she has
been able to develop post-secondary teaching tools for Brown
County’s Eastern Local and Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington
High Schools. Now, she is working with West Union students’
grades 7 through 12 in researching, developing, implementing
and evaluating programs that assist students in removing
barriers to college access, assisting to alleviate poverty
within the community. Beverley also attended Southern State
Community College where she studied art.
Kristi
Scott: College Access Advisor for Eastern Local &
Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington High Schools
Rebekah
Drury: College Access Advisor for Miami Trace & White Oak
High Schools
Kristi
Scott is a graduate of Ripley
High School. She earned her BA at Eastern Kentucky
University and her masters at the University of Cincinnati.
Kristi is a retired school teacher and is currently serving
as a College Access Advisor with the Southern Ohio Center of
Excellence. She is also employed throughout the Brown
County School Districts as a grant writer and project
director for Learn and Serve America. Learn and Serve
America strives to teach young people the importance of
community volunteerism. Ms. Scott serves as director for
the Ohio Appalachian Center of Higher Education in the
capacity of training students, grades preschool through 12,
to achieve a degree higher than that of a high school
diploma.
Rebekah
obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business
Administration from Franklin University, Associate of Arts
and Science Degree from Southern State Community College,
and a Certificate of Completion from AmbassadorBibleCenter.
She also graduated with a Grade Point Average of 3.4 which
included Spanish I, II, & III. Rebekah also served as Ohio
State Beta Vice President where she committed several
service hours to this club. In high school, she was
involved in Soccer, Track, Volleyball, Basketball, Chorus,
Band, and Senior Standout. She also served in the Big
Brother/Big Sister Organization where she tutored children
from ages 5-12, taught morals and values, and encouraged
children’s self-esteem. Rebekah has served as a Camp
Counselor in Ohio, Missouri, Milwaukee, and Texas where she
promoted positive outlook and camp participation in ongoing
activities such as rock climbing, repelling, canoeing, water
skiing, volleyball, basketball, softball, ropes course,
speed-a-way, archery, target rifle shooting, paddle boating,
fishing, swimming, camp improvement, etiquette, CPR, crafts,
and Christian living classes. She supervised pre-teen and
teenagers, ages twelve through eighteen.
