<Back Ohio Women Work!

Women Work!  is dedicated to empowering women from diverse backgrounds and assisting them to become economically self-sufficient through job readiness, education, training, and employment. Our goal is to help women overcome barriers such as the lack of full time work experience, dependent care, transportation, and confidence to compete in the workforce, while aiding with education of job related benefits, high paying wages and career advancement.

Women Work! is also concerned about the lack of diversity in our nation's workforce. Just 9% of engineers and 20% of information technology professionals are women. Currently, our nation's employers are experiencing difficulties hiring skilled workers, particularly in science, engineering, and information technology industries. Statistics forecast that by the year 2020, 12 million jobs requiring postsecondary education and training will go unfilled due to a shortage of skilled workers.
