Ohio's Partnership for Continued Learning Regional P-16 Councils

P-16 is a systematic approach to integrating the separate systems of education across all learning levels. By improving these connections, P-16 focuses on the needs of the students; its philosophy is that success in college and in a career begins at preschool.

The P-16 Council of Highland County is composed of local leaders from education, business, and the community through the help of a KnowledgeWorks grant. The P-16 mission is to provide assistance in creating the alignment from preschool to work, denoting Preschool through 4 years of higher education, and to help assure greater success and quality of life for the youth of Highland County. Executive, Finance, Personnel, Ready for School and Ready for College/Work Committees have been developed as an educational pipeline has been established to identify gaps in our local education systems for critical transitional periods which may hinder students from moving efficiently from early childhood to postsecondary education. P-16 provides pathways to success which will meet the needs of many students, families, schools, business and the community.
