Phi Theta Kappa recognizes and rewards high–achieving students and provides opportunities through Honors in Action and Five Star Competitive Edge to develop such critical skills as problem solving, project planning, team building, effective communication and conflict resolution. These skills can give you a competitive edge when planning for transfer or applying for jobs. However, members are not required to participate in chapter activies or student development programs.

- Angel Souther
- Angel was an active member of PTK while a student at Southern State, serving as Vice-President of Service for the Fayette Campus, and then as Chapter President. She also earned recognition as a member of the PTK All Ohio Academic Team. Upon graduation, she continued to assist the advisors with PTK projects because of her passion and enthusiasm for this organization.
