Disclosure of Graduation/Completion and Transfer-out Rates to
Prospective Athletes, Parents, and Other Required Parties
2004 Cohort
In accordance with the Higher Education Act of
1965, as amended, Southern State Community College, is pleased to
share with you the following information on the graduation and
transfer-out rates of our 2004 cohort of full-time, first-time,
degree or certificate seeking undergraduate student athletes that
received athletic financial aid.
During the fall quarter of 2004, ten (10)
basketball first-time, full-time, certificate or degree-seeking
undergraduate student athletes entered Southern State Community
College. After three (3) years (as of August 31, 2007), 40% of these
students had graduated from our institution or completed their
programs and 40% had transferred to other higher education
institutions.
During the fall quarter of 2004, eighteen (18)
*other sports, first-time, full-time, certificate or degree-seeking
undergraduate student athletes entered Southern State Community
College. After three (3) years (as of August 31, 2007), 22% of
these students had graduated from our institution or completed their
programs and 28% had transferred to other higher education
institutions.
While reviewing this information please keep
the following in mind:

All graduation rates
are based upon 3 years of attendance which equates to 150% of the
normal completion time of our longest program.

Students who withdrew
for personal or medical reasons are included.

Graduation and
transfer-out rates do not include students who left school to
serve in the armed forces or on official church missions or with a
foreign aid service of the federal government, or students who
died or were totally and permanently disabled.

A pound sign (#)
denotes any cohort/sub-cohort with five or fewer students. The
College is not required to disclose this information.
