Please join us for a Women’s Tea celebrating National Women’s History Month and women of character, courage and commitment.
Women who journeyed to the Appalachian frontier and beyond represent the essence of character, courage and commitment. Special guest speaker Freddie Jenkins will share a glimpse of that spirit in "Pieces of Lives," a dramatic sampler, inspired by the play, "Quilters," by Molly Newman and Barbara Damashek.
Freddie has worked throughout the area as a librarian, teacher and an academic advisor at SSCC. "I appeared in a production of this play twenty-five years ago, and these women’s stories still resonate in me today. What a grand treat to share them during Women’s History Month at the delightful Women’s Tea!"
