Upcoming Events

Each year Southern State hosts a variety of special events including theatrical performances, jazz concerts, world-renowned guest lectures, art displays and much more. Student and community involvement is our driving force behind scheduling and coordinating the various events and we desire to bring to you only the most talented artists and interesting venues.

The College has been fortunate over the past several years to attract well-known guest lecturer’s such as Prisoner of War, Terry Anderson, Holocaust Survivor, Zev Kedem, Gorbachev’s English interpreter, Paval Palazchenko, United Nations weapons inspector, Scott Ritter, former FBI agent, John Douglas; Pulitzer Prize Nominated, Betty Mahmoody; musicians Rani Arbo and daisy mayhem; New York Times' best-selling author, Robert Kurson; and dramatic portrayals of historical female figures by Women in History.

Aside from bringing in talent from other parts of the country, the College is proud to have its own talented entertainment pool. Musicians, singers, entertainers, actors, and actresses from here in southern Ohio often have opportunities to showcase their gifts through exhibitions, theatrical performances, concerts, and other events sponsored by the College. A team of qualified and dedicated faculty members is instrumental in providing these opportunities for students to demonstrate their talent while also providing a valuable source of entertainment to the community.
