If you are an individual seeking to advance your career or are looking for retraining due to layoff or disability, we can help. We offer a wide variety of affordable online programs for individual skills training and development including:

University Alliance Continuing Education
Developed by Villanova University, University of San Francisco, and Tulane University, these professional education programs and interactive courses explore today’s most in-demand business topics. Programs include such topics as Project Management, IS Security, ROI Methodology, Supply Chain Management, Business Marketing, and many more.

These online video-based programs teach top job skills that will make you irreplaceable. Expert-based and university-backed, these courses enable you to access the brightest minds and expand your skills whenever and wherever it’s convenient for you.

Please note that this program utilizes streaming video, which requires a very high-speed internet connection. You are welcome to use our Learning Resources Center (LRC) at any of our four campuses to access these courses.

Industrial Training

Southern State has partnered with Industrial Training Zone, a leader in online industrial training. These courses offer state-of-the-art online training for a variety of industrial applications. These are currently available at a cost of $185 per module (except welding).

Individuals or organizations can sign up to access the training from a computer with a broadband connection. Each online course consists of narrations, animation, 3D models, and animated schematics that allow users to learn at their own pace. Courses include:

Business Development

If you have specific training needs for computer software/applications such as Microsoft® (Excel, Access, Word, etc.) or Adobe® (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, etc.), accounting/finance, management/leadership, certification/test prep, business communications/skills and more, consider Ed2Go. Pick a topic - you can find it here! These internet-based courses are highly interactive and led by expert instructors, many of whom are nationally known authors. These affordable courses are fun, fast, and convenient. New sessions start monthly, and typically take only 2-4 hours a week.
