STNA Program
This course will prepare you to become a State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) with classroom, simulated lab, and clinical experience in bedside nursing care such as bathing, measurement of vital signs, ambulation of residents/patients, and assistance with all aspects of activities of daily living (ADL).
Program Included Requirements and Materials:
- FBI/BCI Background Check (Completed at Southern State Community College - included in program cost)
- Please see list of potentially disqualifying offenses
- Textbook and Workbook
Program Requirements - Student Responsibility:
- Physical (SSCC form required)
- Negative TB TEST (Below are the types of TB testing accepted. Please choose one)
- Two negative TB readings within the past 12 months
- Negative Chest x-ray
- Negative QuantiFERON-TB or T-SPOT. TB test within the past 12 months
- Scrubs for clinical days (no color requirements)
- End of Program State Certification Exam: $109.00
Additional Information:
- Student must be at least 16 years old to enroll
- GED or High School Diploma not required
- Students will have a clinical experience at a long-term care facility. Attendance during clinical is mandatory for program completion.
- Students who complete the background check but withdraw from the program will be billed for the background check cost ($50.00).
