Southern State Community College

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

During the current summer semester, Southern State is delivering mostly online or virtual courses with very few exceptions. For the fall 2020 semester, we have coordinated a "COVID-19 proof" strategy, offering a blend of online and hybrid courses that can easily adapt in the worst-case scenarios. View the General Information about Classes page to learn more.

From July 6th - August 14th, in-person services will be expanding, using general safety guidelines, of course. In this gradual reclamation to the campus, all college personnel and guests to the campus are expected to follow the orders issued by the Ohio Department of Health to promote the safety and well-being of all-this includes monitoring potential symptoms before arriving on campus, maintaining 6' of physical separation, wearing face coverings, signing in, and washing hands. A complete listing is available at "Responsible RestartOhio" Guidance for general office environments. General access to the campus will resume on the following schedule. Appointments outside these times can be made directly with the particular service or individual as their schedule permits. This schedule will be updated as necessary as the fall term approaches and as Ohio updates guidance.

Please continue to seek any assistance that you need through email when possible. A staff directory is included on this page. If you don't know who to contact, please call the main college phone number, (937) 393-3431. We are regularly retrieving those messages and putting students in contact with the right person.

You are attending college during an extraordinary time! You'll no doubt have stories to tell about the experiences you and your family persevered during the Coronavirus Outbreak of 2020. Although we realize your experience as a student is far from ideal, I hope you have managed to keep up with your course expectations and can successfully earn the credit you set out to earn. Remember, every college student throughout the country is doing the same thing!

The College will use this website and other virtual communication tools to keep you updated on the steps being implemented to minimize exposure and spread of COVID-19. Updates will be added daily as information is available.
