How to Prevent a Catastrophic Event at your Wastewater Facility
Description
This workshop will help operators and superintendents understand many of the common "Standard Practices" used in water and wastewater systems today that can lead to a potential catastrophic issue at their facilities. This program looks at some of these issues, where if not addressed can ultimately lead to events that potentially cause bodily harm.
Learning Objectives
- Give operators the tools to understand why simply looking at chemical "drum" labeling and/or certificates of analysis do not tell the whole picture... Is that chemical you ordered what you received?
- Explore the necessary tools to do a simple chemical verification process and build skills through hands-on use of verification tools
- Prevent a catastrophic event from occurring at your system during a chemical delivery and subsequent product use

Verifying the Water and Wastewater Process
Description
This program will explore six primary test methodologies (gravimetric, colorimetric, titrimetric, turbimetric, electrometric, and nephelometric).
Learning Objectives
- Understand how to put all six methods together
- Know how to conduct representative sampling
- Report results the correct way (DMR's)
- Learn how to properly handle and dispose of chemical reagents
