2026 New Student Resource Expo

The New Student Resource Expo (formerly Orientation) is the best way to start your college career off right! We strongly recommend all new students attend the in-person New Student Resource Expo held at the Central Campus prior to the start of each semester. The New Student Resource Expo will provide you the opportunity to meet and connect with other new students and give you important tools that will help prepare you for success in your first semester and beyond. An online orientation is available for students who are unable to attend the New Student Resource Expo.

You must be registered for classes to participate in the New Student Resource Expo. If you need to register for classes or make changes to your current schedule please contact the Advising Center at 1.800.628.7722, Ext. 2825 to schedule an appointment. Fall 2026 New Student Resource Expo:

The Fall 2026 New Student Resource Expo will take place on Saturday, August 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Welcome sessions will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Please plan to attend the welcome session that works best for your schedule. From financial aid and tuition guidance to academic advising and support services, the New Student Resource Expo is the first step on your pathway to success at Southern State.

What to expect at the expo:

  • Academic Advising - Meet with an advisor and build your class schedule
  • Financial Aid & Billing - Learn about financial aid, scholarships, and payment options
  • Technology Setup - Set up your student email, multi-factor authentication, explore MyRecords and Canvas
  • Student Support Services - Explore tutoring, counseling, disability services, and other campus resources
  • Next Steps - Get your questions answered and learn what to do before classes begin

Your login credentials are the same as you use to login to your MyRecords, MyMail, and MyCanvas accounts.

Log in at: myrecords.sscc.edu

  • User Name: Full email address – first initial of first name + last name + (sometimes a #) + @live.sscc.edu (example: jdoe@live.sscc.edu)
