  • Vanesa Melendez, a student at Southern State Community College, has been selected to serve as the Western District Representative for the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Ohio Region 2026-27 Officer Team. This selection places Melendez among a small group of student leaders representing members across the state.

  • SSCC Theatre presents Michael Frayn's "Noises Off," playing April 10-12 in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on Southern State Community College's Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. The Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m.; the Sunday matinee begins at 3:30 p.m.

  • Southern State Community College has released its President's List and Dean's List for academic excellence for Fall Semester 2025. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must maintain a 4.0 grade point average while carrying a specific number of academic credit hours. Those who achieve the Dean's List have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0.
  • New Scholarship Opportunity at Southern StateNew Scholarship Opportunity at Southern State
  • Southern State's new Jump Start Scholarship is designed for graduating high school students who have no college experience. This scholarship will pay for one class (tuition, fees and books) at Southern State the summer or fall semester following high school graduation.

  • The Southern State Community College Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, on SSCC's Brown County Campus, Community Room, 351 Brooks-Malott Rd., Mt. Orab, for their regular Board meeting. The board will enter into an executive session to consider the employment, dismissal, discipline, or demotion of a public employee.
