Connect Ohio

Connect Ohio has implemented a statewide broadband training program called Every Citizen Online (ECO) in order to increase broadband adoption in Ohio. Southern State is part of the free computer training sessions at community colleges, libraries and educational centers throughout Ohio. This free program teaches new users how to access the internet and includes three sessions, two hours in length, covering computer and internet basics and discussions about how broadband can be helpful in daily life.

And as an added benefit, as of March 2, 2011, Frontier Communications announced that they will give a FREE netbook computer to graduates of the Connect Ohio ECO computer and internet training program who sign up for Frontier’s High-Speed Internet service with a price protection plan. Adult Opportunity Center

Another great community service is the Adult Opportunity Center which offers FREE Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) classes on each campus and at several off-campus locations. All books and materials are included! They also offer college readiness classes and GED preparation.
