Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP)

You can also schedule a time with Matthew yourself by utilizing the Voya Self Scheduler. From here, you can set a meeting with Matthew or any of the certified Voya representatives.

By electing to participate in an ARP you are irrevocably waiving your right to participate in the eligible state retirement system while continuously employed in a position at Southern State Community College. If you elect to participate in an ARP offered by a private plan provider, you will be forever barred from claiming or purchasing service credit or participation in other plans offered by any state retirement system for the period that an election to participate in an ARP is effective.

Employees eligible for the ARP must make an irrevocable decision of which plan they choose to participate in within 120 days of their hire date. If they do not indicate a decision within this 120 day period, they are automatically and irrevocably enrolled in OPERS or STRS.

If you chose to enroll into an ARP with Voya, it will be your responsibility to contact Voya and enroll in retirement services.
